People Purpose Corporation ("People Purpose," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written to align with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Who we are

People Purpose Corporation is a business coaching and consulting practice based in Kleefeld, Manitoba. For any privacy question or request, contact Rodney Penner at rod@people-purpose.com or 204-921-1000.

This policy also covers blueprintbrandco.com and plumbandledger.com, the websites of Blueprint Brand Co. and Plumb & Ledger, which are brands of People Purpose Corporation.

What we collect

We collect the personal information you choose to give us, and some information automatically when you visit our website, described under "Cookies and tracking" and "Which organizations visit our website".

• When you submit our contact form: your name, and the company name, email, phone number, and message you provide.
• When you email or call us directly: whatever information you choose to share.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not sell anything through this website, so we do not collect payment details here.

Cookies and tracking

We use three tools to understand how our website is used.

1. Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, counts visits and pages viewed and tells us roughly where visitors come from. It sets cookies in your browser.
2. Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing. When you arrive from one of our ads, Google sets a cookie so that a contact can be counted against the ad. Google Ads may also add your visit to a list of people who have visited our website, which we may use to show you our ads on Google and on other websites.
3. Our own visit log. Our website records each page you view on our own systems: the page, the time, the website or ad that sent you (the site's name only, plus any campaign tags we use), whether you are on a computer, tablet or phone, a random visit number that your browser keeps only until you close the tab, your approximate location (country and province) as worked out from your network, and your IP address. It uses no cookies, except one that remembers if you turn it off.

Google's use of this data is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We never sell it. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time, and opt out of personalized Google advertising at myadcenter.google.com.

Which organizations visit our website

We use the IP address of a visit to find out whether it came from a business, school or government network and, if it did, which organization owns that network. We first check the address against a list of networks kept on our own systems. If it belongs to a mobile phone network, a data centre or a VPN, we stop there. If it belongs to a large home and small-business internet provider (such as Rogers, Bell, Shaw or Telus), we may ask one IP data provider, which keeps no record of the addresses it is asked about, whether that line is registered to a business; if it is not, we discard the answer. Otherwise we ask our IP data providers (ipapi.is, IPregistry and IPLocate) who owns the network. If the address belongs to a home internet connection, a mobile phone network, a data centre or a VPN, we discard the answer and keep no record of who owns that network. Sometimes the network belongs to a building, hotel or internet provider rather than to the visitor's employer. We do not identify organizations for visits that, from the network's location, appear to come from Quebec; network location is approximate, so this can miss some visits.

When a visit comes from an organization's network, we keep the organization's name, its website and the pages viewed from that network. We use this to understand which kinds of businesses are interested in our services. We do not try to identify you as a person from your visit, and we never guess email addresses. For a one-person business, naming the business can mean naming its owner.

How long we keep it: our own copy of the full IP address is deleted within 24 hours, usually within minutes. A scrambled form of it is kept for 2 days, or for up to 30 days when the network belongs to an organization, and for up to 90 days for an office network whose organization gave us its address to help us test our system. The random visit number is kept on our systems for 2 days. Our own office networks stay marked as ours, so that our own visits are not counted, until we remove the mark. The record of pages viewed from an organization's network is kept for up to 13 months. Once we open a business record for an organization, a short note that it visited our website is kept with that record for as long as we keep the record. Totals that contain no IP address are kept longer. One of the IP data providers we use keeps its own record of the addresses we look up for up to 12 months. Another says it does not keep the addresses we look up, except for as long as it needs to fix a technical problem.

Your choices: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal (settings that ask websites not to track you), our visit log records nothing about your visit. You can also turn it off for this browser with the button below. Turning it off stops future records; it does not delete earlier ones. Google Analytics and Google Ads are not affected by these signals. To ask what our visit log holds about your connection, or to have it deleted, email rod@people-purpose.com with the IP address you used (you can find it by searching "what is my IP"). After 30 days our records can no longer be tied to an address. The exceptions are an office network whose organization gave us its address to help us test our system (90 days) and our own office networks.

How we use your information

• To respond to your message and arrange a conversation.
• To provide the services you ask us about.
• Only if you check the optional consent box, to send you occasional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time, in keeping with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
• To recognize later visits from your organization's network (see "Which organizations visit our website").

Consent

By submitting our form or contacting us, you consent to our using your information to reply to you and provide what you requested. We ask for separate, express consent before sending marketing email to people who contact us through this site, and you may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. We may also email a business at an address it has published itself, about matters relevant to its business, as Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation allows. Every such email lets you unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Our website is hosted by Netlify, which receives the IP address of every visit in its own server logs, and form submissions are processed and stored through Netlify's services. We also use Google Analytics and Google Ads (conversion tracking and remarketing), provided by Google LLC. The IP data providers ipapi.is, IPregistry and IPLocate receive the IP address of some visits to tell us who owns the network. Supabase hosts our database. These providers act on our behalf under data-processing terms. We may disclose information if required by law.

Where your information is stored

Our hosting, database and IP data providers may store and process data outside Canada, including in the United States, the European Union, Singapore and Australia, where it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of those countries.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as needed to respond to you and for our legitimate business records, after which we remove it. How long our visit log keeps what it records is set out under "Which organizations visit our website". Routine backups kept by our database host may hold these records for a short time longer before they are overwritten. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to withdraw your consent. This includes what our visit log holds about your connection (see "Your choices"). To make a request, email rod@people-purpose.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always posted here with its effective date.
