The knowledge
Twenty-four years around crews teaches you to read people. Who will hold up under pressure. Who carries a crew and who coasts on one. Who will still be showing up, on time and steady, in year three. The problem with that kind of knowledge is that it lives in one head, it does not scale, and an interview is a poor place to apply it. People interview well and work badly, and the other way around, all the time.
The interface
So we built Disc-Quadrant. Candidates take a ten-minute behavioral assessment, and the experience that used to live in one person's gut became software that produces a read on every candidate, every time, before anyone sits down. The data verifies what a human interview alone cannot, and the interview changes jobs: instead of guessing, you are confirming. The conversation proves what the data already told you.
What building it taught us
Three things. First, the hard part is not the technology, it is the mapping: sitting with the person who holds the knowledge and getting every step and every exception out of their head. Second, the interface has to speak the user's language, because software people do not understand goes unused, no matter how clever it is. Third, small and finished beats big and planned. Disc-Quadrant became real the day a client used it on a real hire, not the day the idea sounded good.
